I took this picture today. My friend is the one waving and this picture did not turn out the way I had wanted it to. Everything except him is in focus. Poor planning on my part. My question is can I add detail to this photo at all? I am using Photoshop CS, but am learning still. I would like to add some detail to his face if possible http://www.imagevenue.com/host/web1/6e7f6_Jakesracesmallforweb.jpg Any help would be appreciated

I don't think it's gonna get much better. You could selectively sharpen his face, but it's obviously blurred.
There is a product called Focus Magic which is supposed to be able to fix things like this, but I've never had any luck with it.

I think the problem here is motion blur rather than focus - it looks like the focus plane covers the street in front of and behind the runners. The large depth of field indicates a small aperture which would require a slower shutter speed. The result is motion blur as the shutter was open too long to stop the action and the subject blurred as it moved accross the frame. The reason the runner to the left has less blur is that he is running at an angle more directly toward the camera than the other tow which generally creates less blur.
Sorry, but I am not aware of anything that can improve motion blur in post-processing.

Motion blur is one of the things that Focus Magic purports to be able to fix.
Mind you, I'm not endorsing the product, but it might be worth a download to see if it fixes it.

Interesting, Scottes. I could use a little Focus Magic in many of the pictures of my kids  I may investigate that one - thanks for the tip!

Let us know how it turns out. I wasn't very impressed with my attempts.
