Now that's a rumour :)
* Same form factor as current 1 Series
* Full Frame 16MP sensor (end of 1.3 crop cameras)
* ISO 100 to 6400 (expandible 50 and 12800)
* Live View with contrast detection AF and HD Video capture (It is considered this will revolutionise photo journalism and meet growing requirement for web news video and cross media feeds).
* Stills can be grabbed from HD Video capture but only at 2MP resolution.
* 1.3x crop mode with viewfinder masking and reduced size RAW (10MP) with significantly improved buffer for cropped RAW images
* 10 fps, buffer similar for FF images.

Wow, that's pretty cool. I wonder what the price tag on that would be though.

Now it seems in the world of sports and journalism there might be photographers interested in having the ability to shoot with video also. I am not interested in the mkIII and don't want to buy a unit 2 years from now that has been reworked and reworked or even worse buy a second hand unit that has been thrown. Nikon is doing well in the field and Canon is having real issues when people have 4k in stuff there not happy with.

That's about it. But I am very happy with my Mk3 :) I think it will be one I keep for a very long time.

You know, done right, there is potential for such a camera in the news/journalism world. But, I don't think it would replace the 1D3 or 1Ds3. More likely, it would be a separate professional tool. There is some sensibility to having the universal capability of being able to shoot HD movies and full-frame stills from the same device, especialy if the quality is present.
