I have tried several 'premium' papers (including Ilford Gallerie) in my new i9950 am totally unsatisfied with every non-Canon paper I have tried.

I am yet to find a paper that doesn't make the blank ink sit on the surface - looking across the surface of the paper the black ink can be clearly seen in relief - none of Canon's papers exhibit similar tendancies.

Some people here seem to be very happy with the Ilford papers at least - Are others not having the same problem with the black inks or am I doing something wrong???

Cheers,
Pete

I have an S820 (so things may be different than the i9950) and have used the Ilford Gallerie Classic Pearl paper with great success. You have to be sure to use the paper and quality settings specified by Ilford for your particular printer/paper. I can only compare it to the Canon Photo Paper Pro or Matte papers since I have not used others. The look is different depending on the textures of the paper but I have not seen any undesirable effects.
