I sort of like this shot, but it's got a hot spot on the oranges & yellow apples. Any thoughts on how to tone that section down in Photoshop so it balances out with the rest of the photo?

I would lasso it and feather it about 75 pixels or so and pull back the mid levels slider.. on a seperate layer of course.. then reduce that layer opacity just a bit to keep it "real" :)

Yes, thank you, Grace. The only part of your recommendation I didn't do is the "feathering" it back 75 pixels or so... I'm not sure how to do this.

Regardless, I'm pleased with the result.

Kathy (Grace) gave great advice. The revised version looks better. Another way to get rid of the hot spots is judicious use of the clone tool with blending mode set to darken.
