Figure Skating

A couple of my daughter from US Figure Skating Basic Skills Competition in CT.
She competed in Freestyle 1, won her group. :)
Shot with 30D, 70-200 f/2.8 lens

A fellow figure skating shooter/parent! Quick tip watch your horizontals. If not level it will look like they are skating on a slope as in #1.

#1 has good depth of focus which is hard to achieve when shooting wide open. Both images are well exposed but ice has slight pinkish colour cast in #1.
#2 would have looked slightly better a split second earlier which would have made her more full on and maybe eliminated the slight blur.

I expect your very proud of your daughter for her achievement and well done for posting.

Thanks Graham. I did think about rotating the first pic a bit, but kinda liked the way it looked, though I do see your point in looking at it again however. Have to take a look at the pinkish hue as well, I didn't notice it at first but I do now. Always good to get other eyes to look at these!
