I like the reflections in this, but feel that it's missing something....

I know what you mean, its a stunning picture, but something not quite right.
I think maybe try the rule of thirds, it seems a little too symetrical, I would try 2/3 water, 1/3 sky to see what it looks like.
very nice picture, all that aside however.

I think the problem might be that there is too much shadow. For example I think the rock on the right would be much better if it was in direct sunlight.
Pretty good otherwise though :D

My thought - for what they are worth.
My eye wandered back and forth looking for a hit. The grass at the front and the rock to the right give a sort of dark reverse 'L' shape frame to the image. Makes it feel a bit closed in.

Mmmm... I'm inclined to agree that there isn't a compelling point of interest for the eye to settle on - some light on the grass and / or the rock might have helped, but by the time that happened the light was a lot harsher and the water was rippled - too much shade from across the river.
Thanks for taking the time to comment :)

Yeah it is a nice picture, but as the comments above have mentioned there is something missing.
Just one thing that I noticed, the writing at the bottom is very big and almost intrusive into the image, I think it draws away from it. Nice pic though.

It needs to be rotated just THAAAAAT much CCW, but other than that, I will tell you what I would love to see.
First, is this a site that you have regular access to? What about a series of 4 shots all taken in different conditions? One like this, one with fog on the water, one at sunset (or rise), one in a rain (or snow), one with the leaves on the trees just turning, etc.
Just a thought.
