i like these . . does everyone stack their photos? is tha tthe method of a good macro . .
i need the macro attachment lens for my s3, but i also need understanding of stacking . . do you choose what you use from the crisp image and from the blurred image ,and blend them? . . .sorry i am very interseted and also very new to "real" photography, so much detail, so much work too

John--these are not stacked. I typically shoot a little higher f-stop than most so I don't have to stack. I have tried it, and it is not to difficult if the photos are taken in order. Brian V. has an excellent tutorial on stacking, both auto and manual ( also some other tutorials on a variety of subjects, if you are interested. I learned a lot from them and have practiced his excercises too. It's worth the time, especially when you are starting out {which I really am too}). The stacking program brings out the most "in focus" portions of each photo and puts them together.

i mean if your shooting 100 pics in half a day its not very practical to stack..for me any way..by the time u edit them then stack dam u would be way behind.i think its ok stacking every now and then but i dont even do that..its up to u..if u want max sharp then u may want to stack..i prefer not to..what ever works for u.i prefer top knock the fstop up a bit to 8-11..this way i get alot of dof and dont loose much sharpness..i mean its very clear the difference in my shots to lordvs stacking pics..the main reason i dont stack is because i take so many pics in 1 day..if i had a hole day and i was only trying to get 1 shot of say a spider than i would have time to stack but taking 100-200 pics in 1 day of different insects and mantis it just isnt practical

Wonderful shots, I tried to get a macro shot of a spider once, didn't work as I do have a fear of them. Shot never came out clear too much shake haha.

why is it taken so long for your mantis to turn up?
