I kid. I make fun of the guy named Fong and his plethora of products that tend to drain both your wallet and your flash batteries. Mostly what irritates me about him is the uber ridiculous "sample shots" on his web site designed to mislead people about the effectiveness of his products.
Glad to see I'm not the only one. Mr. Strobist David Hobby does a pretty good job of putting the Tupperware peddler in his place, without even mentioning his name.
It's a pretty quick read, mildly humorous with some common sense advice. How many GF references can you find?

Scary song
My money's gone
The batteries drained away.
The flash went poof
Up towards the roof
Tupperware isn't the way.
Sorry I just couldn't help myself :lol::lol:

Kudos to him for exploiting the fanboy mentality of the uninformed shooter who loves to post here about underexposing ETTL, soft lens copies, dent-o-box etc.
He's a good photographer on top of it all that has done very well for himself. If I could sully my name and make a mint off the disposable income of the masses I'd do it!
Curtis still wins this one though.

Camera geeks are like fish in a barrel to the gizmo peddlers .. Fong is only one of many.
Not his fault a sucker is born every day.

It's filed in my "quotes to use in my sig someday" file.
I bet you could add 2 or 3 more verses if you tried.

Really?
After reading loads of posts from you I've never gotten the impression you were out to add to the confusion and misunderstanding that many new DSLR users experience.
But then I guess monetary gain wasn't involved in those posts.
Fong's products can improve lighting in certain specific shooting conditions, but thats not how he markets it. Selling his over priced plastic as a panacea for what ails on camera flash is just plain wrong.

agree 100% I'm sure it helps in certain situation, but representing as the panacea completely turns me off to it and because of that I reccomend lumiquest products to friends.

The Chinese now manufacture and sell Fong rip-offs which work equally well and are priced right about where Gary Fong should have priced his units originally. The Chinese also sell Stofen Omni Bounce rip offs also at about the price these units should have been sold at originally.
