So I researched and researched, even though I'm only a noob and haven't decided if I should be pursuing this as a profession yet, I've invested into a Sunpak 383 an hour ago along with rechargeable batteries. Although I know it isn't the best flash, I know it could be used as a slave if I decide to do something else with my skills.
POTN has made me addicted and broke!
Now I need to decide what "cheap" lens I should invest into next.
Serisouly, my mgr should fire me from my IT job for browsing this forum all day. I browse it so much, my eyes hurt from reading, and it hurts more when I can't do coding and testing!
Thanks POTN. Literally.
oh, btw, my gear only consist of: Rebet XT, 18-55mm kit lens, nifty-fifty, and a cheap tripod.

A "cheap" lens is not an investment? But there's no reason what you have won't work for good pics.
Post your best shots from the "kit lens"-EF-S 18-55 (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=185522)
OTOH, if you want a great lens at a good price, I'm selling my 70-200 f/4 L USM! :D
