css01,

Great colors, but I want to see more of the fort (or is that all there is? :D )

What camera, what settings, and did you do any digital editing (other than sizing)?

I shot it through a circular polarizer, which really brought out the blue in the sky.

css01,

I recall that the circular polarizing filter used to bring out intense blues in the sky with the 35mm color films, but I wasn't sure what would happen with the digital equivalent. I guess this answers that question.

Now I have to go buy a circular polarizing filter for my Pro 1.

The EXIF info (embedded in the original jpeg file) should have the camera settings.

Good photo. Thanks for sharing.

Nice - I like the way the curves in the building and the hill interact. Great colours.

css01,

Thanks for the EXIF file info. I notice you used the "Vivid" setting for color enhancement. When taking outdoor shots with sky, I find it necessary to use "Vivid". Otherwise I get a pale washed out blue.

one thing I noticed in my EXIF info is that the ISO is AUTO. Is there any way to find out the exact ISO used?

css01,

Interesting observation on your part. I never thought about that before.

After some experimenting with my Pro1, setting ISO for AUTO, or setting the camera mode for full AUTO, the ISO information appears to be lost.

The same is true of White Balance. When using AWB, the EXIF file doesn't list what white balance the camera selected. Just "AWB".

As a sidenote, I've noticed that the AWB on my Pro1 does not detect tungsten worth a damn. If I am shooting with tungsten lighting, I have to force the "Tungsten" white balance.

css01,

Thanks for sharing. The first one with the clouds over the fort is awesome. I would crop some of the beach out of the foreground.

No, not if you set it to 'Auto'.

For that reason, I would suggest to set the ISO to 50 and keep it there, unless you really need to get it higher.

I would assume that in your shot 50 was used by the camera anyway, because the colours are quite vibrant.

I like the third shot very much!

Best regards,
Andy
