Thanks Steve,
It's hard to get good shots of them because they move so darn fast! they hang out about a football fields length away, somtimes on the telephone wire, but somtimes in a bare tree in sombody's backyard..Then they fly swiftly and quietly over to my bottle brush tree (shown in the first and last shots) then hop around there for a few seconds. Then fly over to my balcony railing, hop over to the peanut(quickly), take it, and take back off to the bottle brush tree, back too the other bare tree, then come back for more!

Mike, just a thought, why not make it harder for them to get the peanuts, and they would hang out longer where you could get more shots of them. Mitch might have some ideas on this. Maybe fix a small tree stump or branch that has some deep cracks in it to the railing. You could force the peanuts down in the cracks and that would keep them there longer....I think Mitch does something with an old tree with cracks that he pounds peanuts down into....steve

I have an old section of a tree trunk and wedge the peanuts into the bark where it has loosened up near the cut ends. It also has some center rot holes where I hide seeds. But mostly, I have my blue jays trained. I make them call out from the lilac bush, then I throw them out one peanut at a time. I also have one bird that will come to the window sill and take his own peanuts from the pile. But that works cause I am here all the time and can see them from my desk. ;)
