You've maybe heard of the Zone System, but it really was meant for black and white photography. Here's something similar for colour photography:

No, I haven't.
It looks useful for film using a spot meter, but we have RAW & I’d rather take the pic & adjust after. If I really felt insecure in a situation where I HAD to get it right, & if the situation permitted, I might consider an exposure bracket of 3 shots in RAW.
If I know that a situation will be fast breaking, I’ll shoot a couple of test shots to adjust exposure with the histogram, then delete them. Latitude in RAW will take care of the rest.
If I don’t have time to do the test shots, 15-20 seconds, would I really have the time to implement their system?
