Yet more signs I am a photographer

I took my first history class of college yesterday, my teacher brought up a class he is trying to put together that would travel to "southeast asia".

My first instincts weren't "Wow, what a chance to learn of new cultures!"

Rather..."WOW! What a chance for some steller photographs of the people and the land!"

I know exactly what you mean...

I have a bunch of vacation photos around the house that I took with disposables. All I can think of now, is "Man, I wish I could go back & take them all over again with what I have learned in this short time."( and with my spiffy DRebel!) :D

The catch 22 is: If I keep buying camera "stuff", how can I afford to go back to some of those places? :?

Currently On order: New Hard Drive, More Memory, PSCS, New CDRW, USB 2.0 card...

IMHO, a good photographer shall also have some knowledge of people's cultures. And there is no conflict between your above two statements.
