Went out today to shoot some autmnal macros. Pleased with the outcome, although I had to struggle to find things to actually photograph.

Thanks Linda!

I think that is a Chrysalis of Cabbage White Butterfly. Some insect unfortunately looks to have killed it.

Oh yes! I didnt notice that lol - I was so busy looking at that lovely detail you captured along the side of it I missed the damage to the top of it. Probably some cheeky little bird ay lol.

By the way, I should have said in my previous post, the leaf refraction in the drop shot was very well done - its not an easy thing to do and to manage a shot like that, is very promising for what you can do in the future. Keep it up, you have done extremely well.

Yes, the weather has not been the best for macro photography, especially today, but if we get a few more nice crispy bright days, I feel some nice frosty shots could appear on here lol.

Thanks people for all your great comments!

And the backgrounds were not blurred in PP, that is how they are out of the camera. The DOF is extremely small, which gives that nice blurry effect to the backgrounds.

The effect was gained by using some nice, rich coloured leaves as a backdrop.
