I've an Epson Stylus Photo R300 printer which seems to have a problem with the horizontal alignment of the print heads. When I print the test pattern all the black lines are there, just the 2 or 3 are in the wrong place. I've tried head cleaning and nozzle aligning to no avail.
Is it time to start shopping again???

Try re-installing the software, preferably the newest update from the manufactures' website

I have the same exact problem with an Canon PIXMA IP3000 inkjet printer. Only 2-3 lines are out of place, while everything else appears to be aligned. You might want to check more printer specific forums for help. And do let us know if you find a solution.

Well I don't think its a software problem, seems like either a jet is misaligned or partially blocked so the ink is ejected at an angle. But it is very regular so I don't know. I'm wondering if cleaning / flushing the head with isopropyl alcohol may help. A new print head costs more than a new printer!
