No contraband here, sorry. Just a sandwich apparently. An alley in Chinatown, Manhattan.

This is excellent because it has two images and tells a simple story.

Really good work Pio...I love the expression of the guy in the second shot and the desaturation is perfect for these shots.

All, thanks for looking and for the kind comments. I had a great time reading them, it's a good thing I wasn't drinking anything or else I would now be shopping around for a keyboard and possibly a monitor. On tophoto technicals; this was taken with a 17-40mm on a 20D, with the zoom setting at 17. You gotta love wide angle for street shooting - the subjects here were at first oblivious to me taking pictures. They looked at me and saw that the camera wasn't pointing at them but rather at the street. They didn't know though that they were at the FOV of the lens. At the second shot I knelt to get a sort of worm's eye view, and the subject looked at me as if to say "hey what are you taking photos of?". I can tell that he wasn't sure if he was in the photo or not.

PP was the usual desat/D and B method, though I am incorporating a second desat procedure after the D and B to get this look.

Again thanks for looking all! By the way, yes, I see that there is a bike in the photo. Hmmm .. must be my subliminal mind at work.

Stav, Mark, Thanks!

Barrett, sorry for the delay in answering, I have been traveling and have had limited internet time these past few days. D and B stands for Dodge and Burn. In my workflow, I mostly dodge the highlights and burn the shadows. Coupled with desaturation, it results in the 'urban look' that I find apt for NYC street shots. A short explanation can be found here (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=304768), just scroll down to Post #9.

I did promise to make an online tutorial and post it here, but I really have a hard time making any headway on it. I am not that savvy about how to do the whole thing, posting screen captures and such. I have an easier time just sitting down with someone and teaching hands on. Perhaps I can hook up with someone who is quite adept in making online tutorials so I can finish the task. Is there any computer guru out there who can meet locally for this?

Thanks again peeps for looking and commenting, much appreciated.
