Because my retarded ass bought the wrong kit.

I got this... http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/505382-REG/Elinchrom_19362_EL_Skyport_RX_Radio_Slave.html

When it sould've been this... http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/505381-REG/Elinchrom_19360_EL_Skyport_Universal_Radio_Slave.h tml

Back to B&H it goes. Which means at least another week without a wireless set-up. I was scratching my head trying to figure out why the hell my receivers had a weird slave receptacle that didn't seem compatible with anything, only to find out that they're made to plug directly into Elinchrom strobe units. Make sure you order the universal kit if you want to trigger your Speedlites or third party flashes. That is all.

Thank you for the public service announcement.

It can get confusing if you gloss over the fine print.

The fine print got me also.

I ordered my skyports and ended up with one of those huge gantry like things that mate airport waiting areas to 747s.

It came in several UPS trucks and cost over 1.2 million.

I had no idea B&H sold such things.

But shipping was only $17.56.

Enjoy! Lon

I must be retarded too, only difference my drunk azz can see is that the first set comes with 2 receivers instead of one receiver like the second?

The kit in the first link comes with two receivers which are made to plug directly into Elinchrom strobe units. The second kit comes with one less receiver, but is a universal kit which can be used for your non-elinchrom strobes and speedlites. *burp*

And to think I freaked when I accidentally put the wrong set in my Wishlist.

Should have kept the skyports and changed your kit to elinchrom ;)

I almost made the same mistake quite a while ago when I was putting together my studio kit. I was all excited at the possiblity of controlling my flash units with my laptop. Unfortunately only the Rx versions allow you to do that, the Universal doesn't. Oh well. I still love them and am glad I invested in them (and that I didn't order the wrong ones - harder and more expensive to ship things back when it's across the border).

Kind of sucks they don't sell a universal kit with 2 receivers!

Honestly, I didn't notice the "universal" difference - I just noticed the one with 2 receivers had a LOT LESS cables included ;)
