It finally happened - a Tufted Titmouse. I've been trying all year, but they never stay still, and are quite rare when I'm out taking pictures. But this one landed and I managed to nail him 8 or 9 times. 5 or 6 are actually keepers with minor pose variations.

What lens did you use for this shot?

That sure is one cute little tit...mouse  . I wish i had the patients for this kind of photography.

I think the bigger issue (aside from me lacking a long lens) is my location. Birds around here are just boring, i gotta find a quiet place that the mor timid ones will come to.

Bluebirds, blackbirds, and robins get kind of boring after a while :-D

Scottes - you couldn't ask for a better background blend, it compliments his coloring superbly... beautiful capture!

Thanks for all the comments, and I'm glad you liked it. I was happy to just get one, but I'm darn happy that it came out well.

HJM - this was using the Canon 100-400 L IS with a 36mm tube from about 7 feet away.

Timmy - this didn't really require much patience. I was sitting on my upper deck aiming at SuperFeeder and he landed. I was there for all of 5 minutes. Less than a minute later a Downey Woodpecker stopped by but I managed to mess him up. :(

That's a great photo Scottes. I gotta write a standard template for replies to your photos and just paste it in here every time you post something. :D (they're all mindblowing pics)

Edit: Speaking of borring birds.... I thought the same thing. Until yesterday. My brother went fishing and said that a big white bird kept flying and walking around him until he fed him 2 fish. They way he described it sounded like a heron or egret or something like that. I am gonna go fishing next time with him, maybe I'll take some *closeups*.

With talk like that they're going to have to widen the doorways so my head will fit. :) Thanks.

Man, Scott, you must be on a roll. Another great picture!

<Next time carry a comb so they can groom themselves before you take their pictures. >
