Here's what I want to do:

Compile high-resolution (2272x1704) jpegs into a slideshow program that I can add a soundtrack to and burn to a CD to play on other computers. I'd even like to be able to add my mpegs to the slide show, if possible.

I've tried the new iMac's iMovie and it was a horror to mess with. I'm a Window's person.

I'd like to know any software out there that anyone has had good luck with in this regard. Thank you!

You're talking more about movie-making then slideshows, if you want to add music.

Windows XP comes with the Windows Movie Maker, which can do what you're asking. However, your camera might have come with ArcSoft VideoImpression, which will also do in a pinch. It's not great, but it works.

I once tried to use Powerpoint to make a slideshow with music, but that was disastrous in many, many ways.
