i think this is a red cockaded woodpecker (female?)
not sure if it is the same species as the first post...
i was able to get right under this one, but this was the only clear image i got, due to lighting in the trees . .
i thought the feathers looked good detail...
i added saturation, and level adjustment

You did get good feather detail, birds just dont want to pose sometimes and act shy to the camera.:confused:

this one here was not having a care in the world. ive never been able to get that close...
it is crazy , . . even more crazy the 20 other shots that were grainy, out of focus. .
then this squirrel came right up on me,. . .scared me and the sapsucker...
i got the squirrel..but i have a time with iso in dimly lit forest

This is actually an interesting shot of a female Yellow-bellied Sapsucker.
