The first is very good, the second seems tilted to the right and appears a little over exposed. The leaves are still on the trees in Iowa?

Thank you both for your replies, after looking at #2 I have to agree with you, and yes, there are a few trees in Iowa with the leaves still on. :)

I like the first out the 2, but for me IR just doesn't do it, sorry!

That's understandable, IR isn't for everyone, thank you for your reply..

Excellent photos, I love IR. I'm saving up for a 10D to convert to IR. Keep up the good work!!

Hi Larry:
I have a modified Rebel XT too but my pictures are not as nice as yours... I don't like the pink tint that I have in them. Can you your hand on this picture:

If you don't mind can you tell me how you got the sky to be blue? Did you use channel mixer? How did you post process your pic?

Thanks,
Jonathan

Looks like a good start here to the fun IR world. Congrats on the modified camera.

Nice shots. I actually like the second one best. Almost like a winter snow scene taken with a conventional camera :-)

Thank you all for your comments, maybe at some point if enough people show an interest in IR photography POTN will have a dedicated section for it. Jonathon, I tried to work on your photo but it appears that the sky is blown out, got very little color from my attempt. I use two methods for post processing, one is the "Channel Mixer" method, follow this link, go about half way down the page and look at the tutorials by Joseph Levy and Andy Williams, http://irbuzz.blogspot.com/2007/02/links-related-to-ir-photography-visit.html

The other method I've been experimenting with is the "Lab Color" method, follow this link for more information, http://thegistofit.org/custom-white-balance-using-lab/

Here is a link to a pretty good IR forum if your interested, http://lulalake.conforums.com/index.cgi , hope I've been of some help.

nice work, I like #1.... I have been trying to work out how to preserve the blue tones from the camera in Adobe Bridge, those links look quite helpful thanks.
