Looking for some very good love songs to make people cry in joy and love as they look at their photos, any suggestions? Mid 20's couple.

The song they used for the first dance would be a good start.

Any rap song. If I got my wedding CD back and it had rap music playing along with the slideshow I more than likely would cry. Seriously though I would say Always and Forever either the original version by Heatwave or Luther Vandross's version.

To make em cry, go country. Most people choose country music for their wedding music anyway.

We provide a DVD of all of the couples images set to music with our packages. We always ask, a few weeks before the wedding, for a list of 5 or 6 songs that the couple will be using in the wedding, or that mean something to them. When they come back to view their portraits after the wedding, we show them the DVD. The music is personalised to the couple, and hearing their songs solicits the emotional response you are after.
Music is so subjective.
Yep, the right music will add an emotional punch. The wrong music will hurt.
A quick email or call asking for a song that means something to them will prove better than sticking something in that you might like, but they might hate.
Cheers,
Naomi

Just be aware of copyrights. having music on a product you sell requires mechanical licensing, and syncing them to images requires sync licensing.

This brings up a interesting question.
What do you do when the bride asks for a certain song on the DVD?, do you just say no with an explanation? 'cause then bride says nobody will see it but the family, I and hubby.
How does one get the required licensing?

Then your couples are uncool. LOL! It was actually an Edmonton wedding planner who told me that, and according to Facebook, the #1 choice of music in the Edmonton network is country!

I ask for written confirmation (email) that they own the original CD(s) containing the songs they choose. That way they are simply using songs that they have paid for, for their personal use.

unfortunately, that is still totally 100% copyright infringement. I wish it wasn't, but it is. Best option is to use royalty free music.

A few current favorites are:
Heavenly Day - Patty Griffin
No One - Alicia Keys
Better Together - Jack Johnson
Also the new generation of hipsters are proving popular, like Michael Buble'. etc...

It may not make them cry, but you can purchase sets of music beds and some with lyrics for fairly cheap. Alternately, you could hire a decent musician to record a few original beds for you to use. It would cost more, but would give you more control and probably a better result.
Or you could give them instructions for hitting play on the CD player and the DVD at the same time.

Borderfox, are you MAD? Every Breath is about obsession, stalking, and possession. Do you not listen to lyrics?????

In what world?? That's a blanket statement if I've ever heard one. Most of my customers would barf if I laid a country track over their pics.

To answser your question...music is a very PERSONAL thing. Maybe you should ask your clients what they like.

The Book of Love - Peter Gabriel
It was in the movie Shall We Dance.
I think it's the perfect song for wedding photo slide show.

I recommend staying away from trendy songs that will be dated in a matter of weeks. A song that has classic or timeless characteristics. Also, the emotional impact of the song selection depends on the couple/person. Here a few songs (food for thought):
Amazed by Lonestar
Unforgettable by Nat King Cole (or Natalie Cole)
Can't Help Falling In Love by Elvis Presley
I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston
Faithfully by Journey
You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban
If I think of others I will post more.
