As a long time regular contrubutor to this forum I have enjoyed a good rapport with a number of you. It now appears as though a rock has been turned over and something unpleasant has slithered out.

It is with regret that I have decided to no longer contribute here, and to those of you I regard as friends, you can mail me direct to keep in touch. To Pekka and CDS, thanks.

Please don't waste time and effort posting a reply to me, it will not be read.

Is this because of http://photography-on-the.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=282161&highlight=#282161 ?

It seems that CDS has made a mistake in doing some moderating and you are pi$$ed because of this. You can PM me if you have really severe problems with people or the code. Moderators do errors, I do too but that does not mean we don't care.

I really really would like you and everyone not to let the forum get under your skin. That this is a place to share photos, ideas and knowledge and a way to pass time and have fun. You have taken truly great car photos and I personally would like to see more of them.

Why such a dramatic post? I know this may sound hash talk but I'm a Finn so I may be excused of talking straight and making lots of spelling errors, too.

PM sent....

Man, I hate when this happens. Kenny's both a good photographer and a good person. I tried to defend him in the original long thread, but maybe I was just adding fuel to the fire.

Perhaps we just need to back up from the keyboard for about 15 minutes and unwind occasionally (myself included). Save the nasty stuff for DPR.

If I'm not mistaken, KennyG is an active member in DPR. Again I could be mistaken him with somebody else.

Kenny, it's a shame to see you go, you have helped me and inspired me in the world of sports photography, i owe you a lot.

I hope we can stay in touch, take care mate!

Dudes... come on...

I did this stuff back in grade 10.

"You're mean, I'm not gonna play in this sandbox anymore" :?

WTF? Somebody's ego is too fragile? Thin skin... way too thin :?

I fixed it for you. I am sorry that you are leaving but why make such a big deal?

I am going to add this: I would lock this thread and maybe delete it because this is just a waist of space and while space is cheaper than 5 years ago it isn't free. Now if this was " I am leaving to go live in the mountains when I can retire and do photography all day." it would be fine.

Exit is a bit over the top, I think

I speak straight like a Finn.

If you let the bad ones get to you, we all lose

I'm sorry. I've been on the road for the last couple days, and only logged on intermittently. I really didn't get a clear understanding of what led up to this, but I'm somewhat stunned and terribly disappointed to see that it happened.

I don’t understand why anyone feels this is an appropriate or necessary step. Maybe someone will PM me and let me know what happened.

Thanks.

Tom

Hey! I don't understand this. On Luminous Landscape, they don't edit your posts. If you're too critical they just dump you. Total censorship.

This forum's much better :D .

Kenny,

I don't know if it was my screw up.. or all the crap that led up to it.. or both.

All I can say is I tried my best man.. I feel like I was on call for this episode for about 12 hours straight trying my damnedest to put the genie back in the bottle. I tried my best and was trying to do it for you.

I'm very sorry to see it end this way :(

Thats what i dont understand. I read much of the thread too and i was still confused.

Something happened, hmmm...

Message boards are like citcoms, allow me to explain:

They start out with an idea that has pretty much been done many times before. The creators however think that this one will be unique and awsome in ways none have been before. At this point they reach a fork.

Either the message board crumbles, or it gains members.

For a few "seasons" this budding message board is a wealth of information and entertainment. More and more people start to follow and watch.

A climax of sorts happens, the viewers and members of the forum realize how diverse they are. They want change, ideas get thrown around and the only solution is drama.

Think of any citcom, started out funny...ENDED in drama.

Let us rid these message boards of any and all drama before we descend into a DPR forum type message board.

I'm curious myself, but we can always speculate

I think it all started when kenny posted a few pics of flipping cars he shot with 1Ds? with a title: "you can't do this with a 10D"

Argument -> Flames -> Insults...

Then someone mentioned that all pro photogs are arrogant...

Then bobby took mike's pacifier  and now it's this

That thread is old, and was only brought up because i was talking about buying a 1D. It's all my fault!

(btw, it wasnt shot with a 1Ds)
