Challenge #98 - Pollution
************************************************** *****************
RESULTS!
Not many entries, but I guess that's what I get for setting a subject that meant most people would have to go out and take a new photo rather than picking one from their archives - so thanks to those who entered.
There was also one guy (sorry I've forgotten your name) who posted a potential winner but removed it after I suggested in a p.m. that he adjust the size and add a title to conform with the rules - sorry you didn't re-post.
FIRST - Edd S: "Pretty Pollution". I love to watch contrails and have made many in my time but in fact they have become a major source of pollution, as you remind us.
SECOND - Barbazan: "Smog". A gritty shot that illustrates pollution perfectly.
THIRD - Bboi: "Powerlution". Shows visual pollution (wires being a major pest to photographers) rather than actual emissions, but it's a nice shot.
Barbazan - if it hadn't been for your explanation I would have taken the scene for a cool dawn mist, but a good try!
************************************************** *****************
Not a pleasant subject but very topical, and I can't imagine that anyone can't go out and take a photo that illustrates pollution whether they live in New York or the Antarctic. Almost anything goes as long as it's a good, well composed photo, but please NOT shots of graffiti - I don't want to have to judge "wall art".
And please - read the RULES! It would be a shame to have to disqualify a good photo just because it's over the file size limit or not exactly 800 pixels on the longest side.
