An EF-S Prime? somewhere around 10-14mm? I would much rather have one of those, get rid of my 10-22, and save some cash.

Well cdifoto, I can see that you haven't got any EF-S compatible camera bodies, so I can understand why you say no :D Nonetheless I share your opinion although I have a Canon 350D. I also like wide angles (300V + 17-40) but I don't find such a lens important. What I'd like to see is some EF-S telephoto lenses.

Okay Cdifoto, you win. :[
I say you give me something.
I still think there should be. :] give me like a 13mm f/1.4 for under $500. !!

Absolutely EF-S 12mm f/2.8 would be awesome. :)

Yeah I would. Then that means it wouldn't be an L but would probably boast L quality optics. In other words, cheaper for the same shizzle. I'd totally dig a 12mm f/2.8, if it performs significantly better than a 10-22.

Make it a 1.4 under $800. I'd buy it right now.

I wouldn't mind seeing a lens like that.. but I don't think I'll be getting one.

I guess that the question at this point would be "why"?
I don't think that Canon would sell enough of them to make it worth their while. The 14 mm L can be used on the APS-C cameras as well as full frame and APS-H. It's expensive, even with the expanded market.
An EF-S ultra-wide prime would be limited to the very market segment that is least likely to buy primes. Yes, I know that there are many here that would consider one, but this site represents enthusiasts more than the common user.

A well articulated point.

Limited market segments have not held back some existing lenses.

yeah that's true, unless they're willing to manufacture in a third world country like Vietnam and have a lower build/quality than the existing consumer range lens:)

That would be a very nice lens, a 10mm f/2.8 would be quite nice. A 10-17mm/2.8 wouldn't be a bad zoom lens either. But having a usable f/2.8 at 10mm would be one of the most value for me.

5mm for crop body even better:)

I would have to hide behind the camera, and I still might be in the shot with one of those.

I'd like a 10mm F4 for around $400 but I doubt Canon would do it.

I'm completely behind an EF-S 10mm f/2.8 or f/4. I'd preorder it the day it was announced.

I've actually been thinking about getting the new Sigma 10mm fisheye lens, but I'd have to defish all the images I took. My 10-22 is now the slowest lens in my bag...
