LOL, funny set. That bird might need more laps around the feeder. :)
How cold is it up there?

Thanks Steve. This is a regular. Never seen anything like it. She'll be out in the yard pecking in the grass and just go to sleep where ever she is. Looks like someone dropped a potato out there. :)
It's not that cold, upper 30's today, and snowing lightly, in the teens at night. It just got colder though, it was in the 50's the other day, I had the windows open. :)

Geez... I thought you had a picture of me in this thread and was just going to point out I haven't been that happy but... well I guess it just isn't always about me.
Love that 2nd shot but all are very nice.

Thanks Brad. This bird is quite the character. I think it's the biggest bird in my yard now, a testiment to the good food I put out. :)

Cool shots Mitch! I was wondering the other day why I haven't seen my usual brood of mourning doves and realized I've been putting out almost exclusively sunflower seeds instead of bird seed. I'll have to rectify that and see if it helps.

Thanks Michele. Yes, they love the cracked corn and millet seed, the same thing the House Sparrows eat. I quit putting that out to control my House Sparrow explosion, which worked, and it also cut down on the Dove explosion, which was almost as bad. I'm trying to find a happy medium. I think it's going to spiral down to hand feeding individual birds with a spoon.
I hesitate to call a rash of Cardinals a problem, but I had 5 male/female pairs here late this afternoon. Not quite sure what to do about feeders that are too successful. :)

Mitch, that bird is obese! What are you doing, fattening them up for a little thanksgiving dinner? Ha,Ha...I have never seen a bird that fat, can it even fly? steve

Funny series Mitch and it once again confirms my suspicion that your back yard is the avian equivalent of the Golden Corral :)

HAHA, I think so. Although, it hops and waddles more than it flies. I've never seen a bird with a double chin before.
Scott, it's turning into a zoo. :)

LOL, When I saw the title I thought you had a pic of me!!.
Great series - you can almost see the character of the birs in them. Great stuff.
Cheers

Thanks Rob. For such a docile bird, the do have a lot of character. In fact, now that there is snow, I have about 15 of them out in the yard looking for something to eat. :)

Normally I wouldn't hesitate, but some of them have names now.
I am looking for a squirrel recipe though. ;)
