Hey... It turned T-day just 43 minutes ago and I didn't even notice. Where's my turkey. :):)

Happy T-day all. Enjoy the turkeys, geese, and yes, even ducks.

And the very best to all of you from across the pond enjoying your special day :D

PS I was intrigued late night on BBC World News TV when they showed a reprise of a USA bulletin report - sorry though I have seen the guy a few times I forget his name - and he wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving in many ways but what struck me was he made no reference at all the to historical reason for the day which as Brit I thought was the Pilgrim Fathers being thankfull for a good harvest sufficient to carry them through the coming winter. He used such phrases as Happy Turkey day ??? Are the origins of the day remembered at all?

PPS I love Dozers cartoon ~ veggies delight perhaps :)

Hi Box Brownie.

Of course you are right and you know the history surrounding the holiday. Unfortunately, like Christmas, the origin or religious aspects of many holidays has been lost in the commericalization of the holiday.
