New 580ex2. Is this defective?

I just bought a new Canon 580ex2, on the LCD panel on the lower left side there seems to be a brownish area that looks like its burned. Has anybody else noticed this on there flash?
Should I send it back to Adorama for replacement?

Its really up to you - with LCD (liquid crystal displays) sometimes the membranes get compressed and when that happens you get colorization on the display - it normally doesn't affect the life of the lcd - but if it bugs you send it back.

Call Adorama, (There working on Thanksgiving:shock:) and said to send it back that it is defective. Ask me to call Canon to see if there is an easy fix first.

Then I read the reply post, wow I wouldent have thought it was normal, so does yours have the same disscoloration?

It does bother me that I just spent $400. and it looks like this.

Both mine do it when hot or cold. This is normal for LCD displays.
