you can put more then one answers.
I did a search on here for photo hosting and they are way too many different answers. so I decided to make a pool of all the answers a fund here in POTN.
So now we'll know witch one is the most used by the POTN members.
vote away...
PS: if any one of you would like to get a Zenfolio account, i have a code that would save you $5 on any of their subscription. the code is P58-GV4-XNZ

i have the photobucket too, and this is kind of why i'm shopping for a new place.
I also want to make myself some kind of online portfolio. and maybe later put my costumers pictures on it, so they can look at them.

have you ever sold a picture with Zenfolio?
or you need to have the premium package to do so?
and how much do you get for a picture?

I've had my own site and server since 1996. I did host some of my photos on Pbase for a while, way back when Slug first started the site and it was free, but I now do all my own hosting. I currently have two instances of Exhibit Engine installed, one for hike galleries and the other for travel pictures. And, I'm working on a new CopperMine installation for my graveside photos.

I use fotopic, but I know there are better out there. Too lazy to move it all now :)
But for plane hosting of web sized images, it is an excellent choice.

I like pbase, but I'm not trying to sell anything. It's simple and I like the technical side with all of the EXIF, camera database, etc. However if I were trying to sell photos, then I'd definitely look into something else.

PBase for both business and personal images, with links to my Blog and website. For those of you folks who use or are considering Flicker, just found this article on Cnet:
http://www.webware.com/8301-1_109-9825407-2.html?tag=nl.e404
The author wrote about the pros and cons of that service. Not using it I couldn't say if it's accurate, but might make for some interesting reading.

the reason i don't like flicker is that any body can just go there and take your pictures and post them anywhere they want. like this for an example. (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=16601300&postcount=306) and this... (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=16596695&postcount=302)

I don't see the problem there. The person did not copy the pictures, they linked to them. That's the whole point of the WWW - linking. Not the same as actually copying the file.

Welcome to the world. That's true no matter where you host your photos... ;)

Copying would be a copyright violation - linking is just the url path to that image.... it's not taking it. That's the beauty and/or curse of the web.

Started on Photo.net but was intimidated by the much higher skills (then) of others...
Moved to Photsig.com but really disliked the whole ratings game...
Now on PBase. It just works for me at this point...
Hope to open a gallery on one of the "Photos For Sale" sites in 2008...

Le Smugmug..
I Like that you can 'protect' your pics - in fact I think they have just had a revamp on image security..now you can even completely hide pics, or just right click or hot linking protect. It may be more involved than that but Im no techie..;-)
Personally I love'em
