You can view the rest of them at my Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/adamtrevillian/).
They were all shot with a 350D w/ a 135mm f/2L. Used a 430EX shot thru a 43" umbrella. Exposure was usually around 1/160th - 1/200th @ f/2.2, 2.5, 2.8 w/ ISO being 800.

You've done a fine job. I find the 135 a bit short for wrestling -- I typically shoot wrestling with my 120-300 f/2.8. With wrestling, getting the entire bodies of both wrestlers is not that important. Don't be afraid to shoot tighter -- and get lower.

These are great shots. I have a question...I will be shooting a few wrestling tournaments starting in January. I have mat-side clearance and will be using a Rebel XT with a 85 1.8 lens. I have a 580ex flash but did not want to use it. What do you mean when you said you used your flash and a 43" umbrella? Sorry for my ignorance, but I would be thrilled if my pictures turned out like your!

He meant mount the flash on a light stand with an umbrella. I find it odd that the organizer allows flash on these matches.

I have never heard of flash not being allowed at wrestling matches.

If you can get yourself a 70-200, you'll be much happier -- the 85 will be a bit short.

I have the 70-200, but since I am allowed to sit at the edge of the mat, I thought the 85 would be better.

I use a 120-300 when matside, the 70-200 will be your best bet.

Adam, I really like your shots. May I ask you where you had your off camera light set up?? I wouldn't mind trying this and wondered if you just set it up a couple of feet from where you were on the edge of the mat?? I posted some pics from earlier this year but I had alot of redeye that made my best shots unusable (I just don't have alot of free time to PP my stuff too much). These were just shot at 1/250 with a 580ex camera mounted.
And Gatorboy, yours is exactly the kind of facial shot I want to get!! Very nice!!

to those who were asking about my set up, here's a pretty crappily drawn layout.

i just set the light right next to me and let it go. i showed up a little late so i didn't really have tons of time to place my lights exactly where i wanted.
thanks for all the other comments, guys.

I used my eBay remotes to fire the 430EX off camera, and just had my 430EX shoot thru a 43" umbrella.
