I just got 4 weeks ago a D60. Its great. I don't need to clean it yet, but I want to be prepared for when I have to.
I understand an old-type blower (bulb) to blow air to get off the dust off the sensor is advised, etc. Know that I shouldn't use compressed air against the sensor. But I heard there are places on the net that will sell a complete kit to clean the D60 sensor or whatever.
I have tried all the channels I know to get the right tool(s) Understand Canon recommends you send it in for cleaning, but I'm not going to do that for a couple of dust specs.
So what and where should I get the cleaning stuff? Help is much appreciated.

Alfred,

For my D30, my cleaning kit includes:

- big blower (those compressed air cans spray gunk too easily)

- SensorSwabs (expensive) www.photosol.com

- PecPads www.photosol.com

- Eclipse solution www.photosol.com

- SpeckGrabber (also expensive for what it is) a new addition that is good for "sticky" particles http://www.kinetronics.com/index.html

Canon do advise using only air blowers, but I read plenty of posts from people who'd used the swabs successfully. I don't do it often - perhaps 2/3 times this year - but it does work. The CMOS chip has a plastic cover, so it's not like you're scrubbing the electronics.

Canon also recommend sending the camera to them for cleaning, which I did once, but it came back with the same spot, so...

The Eclipse solution seems much better than the normal fluid available from places like Jessops (in the UK).

You also need a bright light. It's very hard sometimes to see the spots. Make sure you have an uncluttered working and area and just take your time.
