For about 2 years I've used simple frame + copyright info on top of the image, like this :

I've always received comments from people that this kind of copyright was too disturbing. Finally, a couple if days ago I sat down and started digging this forum and the Google for information and ideas for better framing / copyright. Here is what came out at the end of my quest (thanks to this guide (http://www.thelightsright.com/DigitalDarkroom/LearningGalleries/Gallery%20Frame%20Effect/GalleryFrameEffect.htm) from The Light's Right Studio) :

What do you think ?

I prefer the last type of frame, I use that myself. Simple but nice.

And yes its better for the photo itself that the signature is in the frame but it also makes it easy for anyone to steal the photo and pretend it is their own.

My preference is the first one. It appears more "matter of fact" and professional to me. The second one is good too but I have a "thing" against black frames.

I kinda like the new one. It makes the image easier to steal, as tommykjensen mentioned, but I do not believe that someone would steal such a low resolution images (800pixels max X whatever). It's not sutable for prints or selling, is it ?

i like #2 the best. it's unobtrusive, and lets the image stand out more.
