i just noticed that flickr degrades the IQ that i hosted on there, especially the colors. is it only me or that's normal? thanks

If you are noticing the colors change it is possible you are shooting your photos in the Adobe RGB colorspace. Most web browsers render photos in the sRGB colorspace.

Press menu
Scroll down to "Color Space" (in the red area)
Press "SET" Scroll up to "sRGB" Press "SET"
Press menu and you are done

Also make sure that your colour space in photoshop or whatever program you use to edit is set to the same as well.
And flickr applies some sharpening to their resized versions of your photos. The original that you upload will still look like it did when you saved it out of say, photoshop, but the medium and (if your original is big enough) large versions will be sharper than the the original.
