Does anyone own or know when the 580 speedlite will be available in the uk ? And at what price. Why wont my 540 work with my 10d ?

Do you mean 540EZ?

The EZ models do not do ETTL. The EX models do.

On a 10D, the primary flash mode is ETTL.
