View Full Version : More Merlin shot's with BIF

Now that I know it's a Merlin I shot on Friday I thought you might want to see more.

This bird was far away and a challenge to get a shot in good focus. Many of them were pretty bad. With it being so far, I think a tripod would have been best.. Any slight movement by me turns into a big movement on the far away subject. When reviewing the pic's the little red center focus dot was all over the place even though I thought I had it right on him.

Also, this little bugger was fast! I was very lucky to get this BIF shot. I had the camera set to center focus which may have been a mistake. When I reviewed this shot the red center focus dot wasn't even near him. It's not the greatest focus but it will do.

All hand held as alway's. Shot with the 40D

Nice captures henry, these little guys seem to pour on the nitro when they get airborn.:D

Excellent series here, Henry. All three are very nice with the BIF possibly the best.

I'm going back tomorrow (sunday) to see if I can find this merlin again!!
