Hi all. I think I've decided on the Newton Di100CR bracket but I get a bit confused with all the necessary accessories! Could someone simplify what I need to get along with the bracket? I know I need an off-camera shoe cord and the Flash mount adapter... what else? I don't want to get the bracket and realize I need 3 other pieces!
Thanks! :)

Yes, depending on the camera, you may need a separate mount. The off camera cord is a must and you have to learn how to wind it around the bracket to be out of your way. But read up on what accessories you need for the 20D with that bracket. Somehow, that information is in there.

The Canon off-shoe cord can mount directly on the Newton bracket via just a screw, there is no other adapter needed to hold a Canon ETTL flash apart from that. Depending upon how high you want the flash to sit, so as to increase the avoidance of red-eye, you might want to get an extender to raise the off-shoe adapter and flash up a bit more.

You will need the 2-10102 - Dedicated cord holder to mount the off camera cord to. If you try to mount the cord directly to the bracket it will twist quite easily. The cord holder keeps it in place.

Thanks Suzy, Wilt and Doc! I appreciate your feedback. Gotta get it before I spend all my money on Christmas gifts for someone less important, like my kids. ;)

You sound like your Xmas generosity will one day be rewarded by them giving you a home or taking care of you in your old age! ;)

Have fun - there are several of us here on the board who've used the Newtons for a few years, so fire away if you have any specific questions. Enjoy!:D
