I have put some of my recent work on http://www.jarkko.net/photos/. Most photos are shot with Canon PowerShot G2, which I have had since February.

Any comments are very welcome!

Very nice, Jarkko! I like the layout of your gallery and the framing of the photos. You've got some great shots too.

Unbelievable pictures! I am about to produce a gallery of my own as well... how does one frame up the pictures like you've done? Is there a software which does it with a single click, or...? Thanks.

Jarkko, very impressive work. My favorite is the red cottage - great color saturation.

Your site says your photos are "enhanced digitally." Would you mind sharing your workflow?

Thanks to everybody for your comments. My digital post-processing methods are actually quite simple. I use Paint Shop Pro 7 (never felt comfortable with Photoshop even though I know it has features PSP lacks).

I shoot the photos in RAW or Fine/Superfine JPEG. RAW is of naturally preferred if I know I'm not going to be short of memory. Usually I just resize the photo, adjust brightness and contrast (Histogram), probably add some saturation (Automatic Saturation Enhancement) and sharpen the shot. Sometimes I also simulate a softening filter by merging a gaussian blurred layer into the original "sharp" shot. You can see this effect in Soho and Old doll shots.

Adding simple frames in PSP is easy thanks to the Add borders feature it supports. I just choose the color and border's thickness in pixels. Textured borders need more work but I haven't done that.

If you like, I can make some original photos available by request.

Regards and keep posting your work, too!

I have a real soft spot for animals. Roope II is awsome!
All the pics are great.
