I've been seeing some great bird photos lately, and since I kinda like birds, I notice them. But I also remember seeing some other great ones in the past, and I wanted to seem them again. Honestly, I'm too lazy to go hunting back through the archives, so I figured I start this thread.

Well, here's my favorite. Technically it's not the best, but I love it, and it was a great day.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v210/wolverinesr1/wildlife%20pics/IMG_0259.jpg

and this one for my second time around capturing a bird in flight

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v210/wolverinesr1/wildlife%20pics/IMG_0561.jpg

and finally this one for the fact that it is a big bird (blue heron)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v210/wolverinesr1/wildlife%20pics/IMG_0740.jpg

i'm sure these will all be replaced as my favorites just as soon as i can make up my mind on a 70-300 DO or the 100-400L

I donot have many but my favourite one is this. I like the colors on these birds. It could have been sharper and contrasty but I am new to photography and still on the learning curve. Anyway, here it is ...

cadwell, you are as good with birds as you are with cars :!: Impressive pictures.

You seem to choose ugly birds for some reason though :P . I ducked when I saw that ostrich (or whatever it is - #2).

Ugly! I am reliably informed that those pouches above the beak make that pelican look absolutely gorgeous (at least to a lady pelican)

As for the ostrich (??) – imagine what it looked like through my viewfinder!

Roan: The use of depth of field on your first shot is perfect. I really like that.
