OK... it's about that time of the year. Let us see your very best motorsport shot from the 2007 season.
The limit is one photo per member, let's not turn this into a gallery, so make sure it is a cracker. If you post multiple shots I'll delete all bar the first one - you have been warned :p

DA.....The max size of the image you can attach is 100kb 800x800 pixels, most people have a gallery else where and post the BB code to link it to that website when they post an image on a thread, example below
http://www.photozo.com/album/data/7696/IMG_4938_edited-1.jpg
Some stonking images so far on this thread, thanks for sharing, unfortunately I think my poor effort was the only chance that I actually got to see any motorsport this year, apart from F1 in Melbourne (too much fence), must try harder next year.....

i think you find he used a camera
jesting aside what confuses you about it. its a model radio controlled bike that has just been treated as any other motor verhical and been shot with a panning tecnique
does that clear it up a bit ?

yeah, i was just impressed with the panning considering that they are so small. that seems like it would make things much more difficult.

Thank you for the comments. Yeah Radio Control motorsporting is more difficult to capture compared to full scale motorsports. The size to speed ratio is insane. Many times, it would be comparable to trying to capture a full scale race car going about 300 to 400 mph.

My best one or my favourite one? This is probably my favourite one from 2007, I don't know if it's my best.
But taking photos of cars on a flat tarmac circuit is dead easy and you see them loads of times. Rally photography is a whole different kettle of fish as you only see the competitors for about 10 seconds and there are usually tricky lighting conditions, so I was well chuffed when I nailed Steve Perez' VK Ford Focus WRC in March on the Sunseeker Rally.

I don't know a lot about the Australian rally championship, but here is link to their website... http://www.rally.com.au/home
I note the next rally is Coates Rally Queensland on 8-9 March 2008, but I don't know where it is held.

On the basis that it's actually the only Motorsport photo I bothered to print from the one film I shot this year, this is it! Probably one shot and one film more than I'll bother shooting next year ...

Hey thanks alot mate, with rallies, do you need a press pass or are you there 'at your own risk'? ... haha oh and also does it cost much (or same as any race event?):)

Not necessarily. That photo is from a vintage race. The car owner runs the car in its original livery for historical purposes, he gets no sponsorship from Marlboro. But, I have read that in some of the EU countries the ban on tobacco advertising may be extended to vintage race cars and even to scale models of these cars. Soon it will probably be illegal to even post a period photo of a race car with tobacco advertising on the net.
Hmm, lets see, where did I leave that pitchfork.
