I have a 20d, and a few junk lenses. Sigma 70-300mm, Kit lens, 50mm f1.8.
I need some good glass, but I also want a 40d. I can get one but not both right now. So, heres what I was thinking
40d with 28-135mm lens. about 1550 with TN tax on it.
or
Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS and hang on to the 20d for a while. I want to hear what you guys think.

I would get a decent lens. Is the 70-200mm range your priority tho'? Do you need 2.8 or will f4.0 do you?

Keep the 20D and go for the lenses

That range really isnt my priority, but I think thats a lens I'll eventually want and need anyways. Any other recommendations? For the price difference, and in between f4 and f2.8, I'd rather get the 2.8. I'm open to any suggestions about any of it. I want a Canon 10-22mm for sure, but I want to get one of the more expensive lenses while I have the money.

Get the 70-200 of course. The 28-135 is good for general purposes but not that great.

Stick to what you need. Think hard on what you want.

If you wear glasses, here is a simple way to determine if you want a better lens or a better camera:
1) Take off your glasses
2) Lick the glass
3) Put on your glasses
Same thing.

I bought all 3 of my L's when I had my 300D (still do) and then upgraded to the 30D only quite recently. The lenses changed my 300D into a great camera, for what it is.
Go for the 70-200 F2.8 L IS, no question!
