Could you explain more about this photo?
It might benefit from a slight lightening of the shadow areas to bring out more detail.

Hmmmm, from the lack of comment, I guess the photo doesn't work.
I was trying to capture the custom of leaving stones of remembrance on headstones and memorials. It appears to be a common practice in Israel. The memorial in Boston has 6 glass pillars, representing the six major death camps, and I was trying to draw the viewer into the pillars with the line coming from the stones.
I tried to highlight the top of the memorial stone by desaturating everything in the photo except for the top.

The placing of small stones on a headstone is a Jewish tradition, marking the visit to a loved one's gravesite. Unless you know that, the photo has less impact. On the other hand, I saw the significance immediately.
It's a good shot, but as was previously stated, might benefit from some shadow recovery- it seems a bit dark to my eye.
Thank you for posting it!
