I covered the big protest march in NYC today from Union Square to Madison Square Garden and back, about 40 blocks. I used my 10D + 70-200 f/2.8 and 1D Mark II + 24-70 f/2.8. They both performed flawlessly. Pictures to follow later in the week.

A visual survey of the cameras in use showed about 3/4 of the bodies in use were Canon, mostly 1D's, 1D Mark II's and 10D's. The most common lenses in use were the 16-35 f/2.8, 24-70 f/2.8.

I recorded much of the Live broadcast today. Quite a few Canon lenses on the street! Noticed a few different people with multiple camera's slung over shoulders. Wondering if any of them were you?

By chance did you catch the burning Green Dragon float thing?

Lookin' forward to your pics.

Small part of the assembled camera corp about 9:30 am, half hour before
the speakers commenced. My first protest march since the seventies.
Twas fun, but the 40,000 cops they deployed for this was oppressive even for
an old fuddy-duddy conservative like me. Where were you, Scott?

I followed the march route weaving in and out of the marchers finishing off where I started at Union Square. There were alot of cops but they didn't bother me or any of the marchers that I saw. They just let me do my thing.

Scott
