? on lack of exif data

I use Firefox and have the exif viewer add-on. Most pics it's a simple right-click and I can see the exif.

Other times the message come back "unable to extract some/all of the exif data". This goes for this forum and also lots of other sites as well.

What's happened that causes this? Does the exif get lost in PP? Does the person doing the PP elect to hide the exif?

I don't know and I'm just curious.

I have a feeling of deja-vu....

Most images have exif stripped before they're posted to the web, that's why there's no exif. "save for web" strips exif.

"save for web" strips exif. And "Save As" does not. ;)

Some people always include their exif.. I do.
Some people never include them.. Which is frustrating because it never fails that multiple people ask what their settings were for a spectacular picture in the subsequent posts..
