I'm having trouble focusing in the macro setting and I can't get the camera into the supermacro setting. When I have the camera in Macro then use the Zoom up to the yellow bar the camera won't refocus????????? Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks
Rob

As far as I know, when you use macro mode and use zoom, you have to go a little farther away from the subject before your camera will be able to focus. Try moving away from the subject in small distances then try to compose and see if it focuses...

i'm not sure if you can use the super-macro mode in any setting...every time i use it is in the Manual(M) setting...this allows you to set both aperture and shutter speed....the way to get into super macro is simply by holding it down longer...and as far as the macro mode not focusing...i agree with elmarphil...i think you need to try moving away until it focuses

I have the S3, though I am pretty sure that they are the same mechanisms:
supermacro mode cannot be in auto mode. I use it in P, Tv and Av.
You cannot zoom while in supermacro mode.
The use of zoom in the regular macro mode can be challanging. When it doesn't focus correctly, it means that you are probably too close according to the optics. Step back.
