View Full Version : Colour representation - uncalibrated?

I was going through my pictures and looking at the info and I stumbled upon 'Colour representation - uncalibrated'

Can someone tell me if this is good/bad? I haven't adjusted any colour settings besides matching Adobe 1999 from DPP and PS.

Thanks

Where did you see this?

After I save as TIFF or Jpeg in PS.
I right click on the picture - properties and view the information. I also uploaded the photo to Flickr and it shows the same information.

When you save the file in PS there is a box that you need to tick in order to include the ICC profile in the file. Without this you will often see "uncalibrated" as the color space using browsers and/or EXIF readers.

Also, some EXIF readers will show "uncalibrated" if your image is saved in anything, but sRGB.

If you are unfamiliar with color management I, and many others, suggest staying in sRGB.

As said: in a lot of cases 'Uncalibrated' means 'not sRGB'.
Not always though.

Have a read in the link from my sig about settings

ICC profile is checked off in PS when I save.

Then perhaps it is a color space other than sRGB as said before. The only way to know is to upload an image so that we can verify that.

Double check: Checked or off? ;)
It should be checked. (so saved with embedded profile)
