I posted this one on my Flickr site as part of my pic-a-day month, and would like to add a few details about the particular model which I happened across. Could anyone help?
Oh, and C&C welcome, as always.;)

Looks like a 1965 Mustang Coupe, 289... I had the fastback version of that car when I was growing up, same wheel covers and everything. Been a long time though, so someone else might correct me as far as the year goes.

Hi, I can't tell for sure, but does the emblem on the fender say 260 V8? If so, what you have here is most likely a 64 &1/2 Mustang, as they dropped the 260 mid to late 1964 in favor of the 289. Body wise, The 64 & 1/2, 65, and 66 were all pretty similar. I drove a 65 in the late 60's that looked just like this one. ;)

It looks pretty good, if a bit wet.
Sorry, but IMAGE POSTING RULES (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=74718) only allow pics 800 pixels or smaller. You can always just post a link to them, though.

That's correct. The 260 was a small V-8 used in the Falcon and was in the early Mustangs. The '64½ was actually considered a '65 by Ford, but many people now use the terms to differentiate changes made by Ford after mid-August 1964. The 260 was replaced by the 289 in the offical '65 model year. The early model were basically built from the Ford parts bin and was mostly Falcon parts (chasis, running gear, brakes, transmission, etc) . One interesting note is that the '64½ used a generator instead of an alternator...which was changed in '65. The first model year was only available in a coupe and convertible and the very first Mustang off the assembly line was a Wimbledon White convertible with the 260 (vin # 5F08F100001). The fastback was first available in '65.
The '64½ was anything BUT a sports car, since for all extent and purposes it was a re-skinned Falcon. In '65 it began the changes that led it to become the father of the so called "pony car" genre (Mustang, Camaro, Firebird, Baracuda, AMX, Challenger, Cougar). It is still alive and well today.
