I have been battling over which version of this shot I like more, and if I even like it at all. What do you guys think?

What are the barriers in the water? They look photoshop'd in.
I'd have to say the color. There is so little color in the photo anyway that the little bit adds contrast.

I guess they do look p'shopped in don't they. That is actually a bridge that existed before they flooded this reservoir. It's way too low right now and it's starting to peak through the water.

I definitely like #1 a lot better, but I'm not 100% sure why. Some of the elements that make #2 look a little flat make #1 look dark and moody. The blown-out clouds in the distance look more like a metallic glow in the first one. Also, my eye is drawn toward the shore in the second one, while in the first one my eye is drawn toward the bridge structures and the horizon, which is way more interesting. I like the first one a lot.

The bridge looks fake to me. It is really cool looking and the fog around it is nice, but it looks too fake (but I know it's a real bridge).
The black and white is nice, but I do like the color one. I say go with the colored one because it has minimal color anyway. The shoreline in the colored looks better than the shoreline in the bw. But again, the bw looks nice overall.
The sunlight in the background is a bit puzzling to me. I think if it stretched a bit wider across the background it would look awesome.
(I just got my first camera almost three weeks ago so I'm a newbie)

The blown-out area of either one seem to be the coup de grāce for my interest.

I'd go for number 1. I looks a bit more contrasty to me, and the color really adds nothing for me. The first one has a dreamy look about it. I think the bright patch in the clouds is a bit distracting, but it doesn't stand out so much in the first one.
I played around with it a little bit. Hahaha, this is just how I envision it, but then again it's not my vision, is it?
