G2 Troubles - HELP - think I mighta burned my CCD.

Took the following image of a sun reflection and think the sun light mighta fried my camera's CCD as the images all now have a serious blue tint to them... less red for sure. Is this indicative of a burned CCD?

I have never heard of a problem like this. It seems to me that any "blowout" due to strong sunlight would result in streaks or a burned out spot, not the whole photo being off-color.

You did check your WB settings, right?

I've got caught off base several times with manual focus. Should have been suspicious about the vastly improved focus speed :P

Of course I'd previously been working on something a few feet away, so everything was completely blurry...

It is possible to do--look at the pink trail (now permanent in every subsequent picture) the sun burned on this camera:

I'm guessing that the pink trail is the same width as the diameter of the iris when it's closed most of the way, but open a little to provide the image on the LCD viewer. More guessing: a single snapshot isn't a big risk, but leaving the camera pointing at the sun with the LCD display on is--and possibly turning off the LCD would reduce the risk significantly?
