I think I figured out how to use it somewhat.

This filter is really tricky, my advise is to take baby steps and play with it, a lot.

I'm figuring it out, just thought I'd ask for any tips before going about it the long way.
Thanks though!

You can go to Image/Image Size in the menu bar. Uncheck "Constrain Proportions" and alter the width of the photo slightly. Hit OK and view the result. Change as desired. This is basically what is called an "anamorphic adjustment" - changing an image along one axis without changing the other. Is does distort the image but in small doses it isn't readily noticed. If there is an readily recognized object such as a ball or trademark which is supposed to be round or any other distinct shape it will show up like a zit on your nose (your real nose, not a picture which you could photoshop it out of).

I hope that ad is fake... have we gotten so disillusioned that we're compensating in camera for what may or may not be a personal body issue? What's next? Acne-removal filter, cellulose-reduction picture style?
I think it's a really neat concept and definitely not something I would have predicted, but at the same time it disappoints me.

I have used this method to great success. I find that 3 to 5% reduction in "width" works wonders. In fact, I heard of a wedding photographer who would select the bride only from all the shots and, without telling the clients, he would slim her by 5%. His sales on prints were fantastic, as was referrals. No one could really put their finger on it, but for some reason, he took such good pictures!
