Any way to make the G2 shutter longer than 15 seconds?

Is there any way to make the G2 shutter longer than 15 seconds, or somehow use a "bulb" mode. I think i will be purchasing a 20D in addition to my current G2. Does anyone know if the 20D will have a bulb mode? Thanks in advance!

With the G2, you're stuck with what the firmware allows you to do, unfortunately. I've often wished for an open or hackable camera firmware, so you could tweak things. Increase the max shutter time, make the noise-reduction stage optional, allow the manual-focus magnified image to cover the full LCD, at various zooms up to 100% pixel crop, etc. Obviously you'd have to void any software/firmware support (at least until you reflashed back to stock), but I'd accept that.

The 20D specs show, according to http://www.steves-digicams.com/2004_reviews/20d.html :

1/8000 sec. to 30 sec.(1/2 or 1/3 stop increments) plus Bulb
X-sync at 1/200 sec.
